Embracing January
Share
We are in January - the long dark nights, stormy cold weather and tighter finances can really pull us down.

Seeking refuge in my workshop I embrace January - using it as a time to reflect properly on the previous year and prepare for the coming one.
Doll orders are slower and the calm allows me to ease into each day, enjoying a slower pace after the busy period of midwinter and all that Christmas brings!
I start with reflecting on the previous year, what went well, what didn't, what needs to be let go of and what I want to do more of!

I’ve been making dolls professionaly for 10 years now and it’s been a journey - navigating many challenges and sending dolls to be loved all over the world. Reflecting gently each year helps me choose to put my energy in the best places.
I then consider what I want to add to my 'to-do' list for the next year. Planning my core making, and deciding which new ideas are going to be going forward.
My business values are sustainability, playfulness and craftsmanship - developing my business along these lines is key to standing out in a world of mass produced toys.
I always have far too many ideas and not enough time!
Have you had time to think about your upcoming year? I'd love to hear your reflections and any intentions.
