FAQs | Polly had a Dolly

FAQs

Do you make all these dolls yourself?

Yes, all my dolls are completely handmade by me in my home studio in Staplehurst, Kent, England,

Do you design your own dolls?

Yes, each and every design is my own, which is developed, tested and refined by my two daughters. The more recognisable 'Waldorf'  dolls are based on a traditional design, but with my unique Polly had a Dolly style.

Why wool?

Of all the natural materials I use in my doll making, the British lambswool stuffing is the most important. It is the best filling for dolls as it absorbs your child’s body heat making it super comforting; it has a density and weight which is reassuring; and, pratically it is naturally antibacterial, eco friendly and fire-retardant.

How do I clean my doll?

Each doll comes with full care instructions, I recommend hand washing your doll in a basin of water and treating her as a real baby. Please get in touch if you need another copy of the instructions [email protected]

What doll would you recommend for a baby?

If you are puchasing for a baby I would recommend choosing a doll from the 'baby and little ones' section of my website. These dolls are soft and tactile and the simple features make them perfect for an under 3.

I would like a custom made doll, is this possible?

Please get in touch and we can discuss your requirements [email protected]

Are your dolls CE tested?

Yes all my dolls are CE marked and tested according to EN71, parts 1,2, and 3. Please refer to each doll for the recommended play age.
